This winter, Acme Theatre Company is producing “the k of d: an urban legend,” a tale of revenge and grief with a side of dark comedy.
Written by Laura Schellhardt and directed by Jennifer Grace, this production weaves myth and reality, following a pack of teenagers in small-town Ohio trying to make sense of a local boy’s death.
This production is supported, in part, by a grant from the City of Davis Arts & Cultural Affairs program, and by the California Arts Council, a state agency. Learn more at www.arts.ca.gov.
Acme Theatre Company is a youth-led non-profit theatre company founded by Dave Burmester, a Davis High English teacher, and a group of local students.
Warning: this production includes some explicit language and some occasional casual cruelty, including use of the words “retarded” and “cripple.”
